Noticing the noisy neighbors

Although not an entirely new phenomenon, in recent weeks the thunderous roar of jet engines and high-altitude aerobatic displays glimpsed through the cloud cover to the west of Cave Junction have captured the attention of Illinois Valley residents.

Cleaning up the Cut

Around 45 volunteers removed several tons of refuse from BLM land along Logan Cut south of Cave Junction, an historic hydraulic mining ditch that, unfortunately, has become a place were people routinely dump garbage.

Old Stage Road and appointment of new budget committee members will be among topics to come before the Common Council for the City of Cave Junction on Monday evening, May 14.  The council’s meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 222 W.
