Letter: How I see it!

Posted by mbinker On July - 18 - 2011

I personally contributed to and campaigned for Simon Hare.
After Hare took office, I had several personal discussions with him where he made it perfectly clear he has a pure hatred for Cassanelli.  Hare’s exact words were “I can’t stand that woman!”
I don’t personally dislike Hare; although his slips of the tongue has embarrassed himself, his promises to work issues go unfinished, and  his “open microphone” comments about certain people or his comical mocking of the pledge of allegiance has anger me.
But Hare has enablers who come from the very organizations that the county voters have expressed no confidence in their value versus costs.  One leader stated in an email:
“It is more and more apparent that he (Hare) has been swallowed by the Courthouse Gang.  Disappointing, but still not as bad as Toler who had an agenda negative to the best interests of the county.  The election of Hare had everything to do with ousting Toler and very little to do with electing Hare. ”
Their objectives are clear, if Cassenalli couldn’t be recall then obtain a commissioner majority that would push their agenda.  (Hare – Chair; Haugen – Vice Chair and Cassanelli)
The enablers can’t afford a stalemate. They are afraid that SOREDI, SORA, Job Council, Friends of JOCO, and other enablers will lose their foothold, funding, and influence.
Names or terms like The Paradise Ranch, Project Exit 61, Rendata Industrial Park, the Hop Farms, move the fairgrounds; drive high emotions!
No conspiracy, just plain greed!
Rick Kelley, Cave Junction

Rather than pointing at each other, please address the question: What are the best interests of the county?

The words were quotes from another person/politician. Apparently there was a strong movement to remove Dave Toler from office with whomever was electable.

This same person stated they “sweat blood and tears” trying to muster the support to remove Toler and put Hare in.

I thought, gee, didn’t we want the best qualified person? The answer was they would take a grinder’s organ monkey.

    I guess that politics.

“not as bad as Toler who had an agenda negative to the best interests of the county.”

What was this agenda, negative to the best interests of the county?

What are the best interests of the county?

Maybe people use psudo-names because you have mentioned introducing them to your ruger. Your address is no secret either. No malice here, just caution due to your commentary Mr. Kelley.

  6. Mark Russo Says:

    Mr Kelley,

Your last post was much better. Once you remove the speculation and the “a little birdie told me” diatribe I can see the point you are driving at and can make my own decision as to whether to research further or take it as written with out worrying about my eyes glazing over. Stick to the facts and let the reader come to their own conclusions.

Adding zings to your posts reduces the effectiveness and credibility of the written as well as the writer.

I am a conservative surrounded by liberal loons. Yes I voted for Hare, but I would have voted for a monkey if it got Toler out of office. I had hoped Hare would change things for the better.

If he is bad for the community I sure want to know about it, but I am only interested in the facts. If you can report these “Facts” without adding your bias I’ll be glad to listen.

Does that sound fair to you?

  7. Rick Kelley Says:

    Mr. Russo

Gee, intimidation, never thought as much. My point of reference was your location was because of your attack without understanding that Hare has lost his credibility.

He started great but somewhere he falter when he started walking out of meetings (FACT). Then he never return to DC to continue discussions or lobbying for the county as he promised to do during his campaign. (FACT). He violated several hiring policies when exercising the right to go out for an interim fair manager (FACT)
Recent discussions concerning commissioner selection were agreed upon and then changed by him without coordination. (FACT) Walked out of 2nd meeting (FACT)
Hare has slip on tape and on live TV saying things he shouldn’t (FACT) Last Thursday it was mocking the Pledge of Allegiance

What I’m saying and have been saying is that all of this is on the record. There was a website, Rogue Valley Network.com but it mysterious went down. Now the videos are show on the county live streaming web site. The county website also posts the audio of the meetings.

Yesterday, an injunction was filed to have a judge answer the question if Ellis can participate in the selection process. Hare and elected official want this because they want one particular person, Harold Haugen. I don’t know him, all I know is the voters replaced him by an 84% vote.

Bottom line: I voted for Hare, I hope he improves.

Michele, the above letter isn’t exactly how my letter is laid out and doesn’t have the italic quotation, paragraph 5, which are not my words but that of another politician.

Now this may be a translation problem between the programs or something.

That is what I was referring to, please hackles down.

    Thanks

  9. Mark Russo Says:

First of all, pointing out where I live as a form of intimidation is a waste of time. I’ve lived here for 38 years and am well known. I stand behind what I say.

I barely know Simon although you are quick to draw lines as well as conclusions. My relationship is more like good neighbors than good friends, something you evidently are not familiar with.

This is the way I see it:

“I personally contributed to and campaigned for Simon Hare.”
Hare’s exact words were “I can’t stand that woman!”
    “…I don’t personally dislike Hare;
    “..has anger me.”
    “Disappointing,”

The rest is worthless drivel and rant without sources. If you have the stones to quote someone you should include their name. This is where you reduce your argument to “A source close the the star has revealed…..” just like a tabloid.

You are so sure I have a dog in the race. The fact is after reading your many “opinions” I just think someone should call you on your yellow journalism style.

That is all buddy. It’s all about you.

And that’s the way I see it.

Here is the copy of your letter as sent to me. Doesn’t look like anything was left out. Would you like to clarify your comment?

  11. Rick Kelley Says:

    Mark Russo,

Now that I recognize the name and that you live near the Hare Ranch on Cave’s Hwy, let’s see if you as a close friend can explain this perceive “chip” on my shoulder you say I have.

I mean when an elected official walks out of the Cave Junction- County meeting because he doesn’t want to respond to the electorate; or he walks out of meetings where he is the county liaison to take phone calls and then doesn’t understand why he missed an important vote; or he left early conferences when he was tired and HE felt there was nothing else left to be learned not because he needed to stayed here as the county representative; or the the discussion today he had with others about inappropriate language on TV but not realizing it was his slip of the tongue off camera (hot mike).

This isn’t my chip. This is the list that was filed to the JOCO Republican exec. committee.

There are some in this area who have their noses bent out of shape because they didn’t get contracts or job, their response was shut down certain services.

One thing I will say, “THE COUNTY BUDGET!”

I don’t know how this county can sustain a $1,5 million/month spend rate.

  12. Rick Kelley Says:

Thank you for your comments. As I stated, Hare has become “influenced” by those who want to drive the county by greed. The problem with Michelle was she didn’t copy over the letter with the proper quotes. The portion of Hare being elected to replace Toler was by a “leading figure” in the county.

My multiple comments are because I go to a majority of the meetings, research the data, and work with the facts. I haven’t hear any facts from any of you hidden figures or otherwise why hide behind child like names like Pan Man and Bobster.

As far as chip on shoulder, why no, I have nothing to gain and nothing to lose, just pay the same taxes, (that is if you do pay taxes), and participate in the same democratic process.

I’m just like any voter that when a elected candidate says he’s going to do something you expect him to keep his word. You may not live by that rule but don’t those that do.

By the way, there where other words about Sandi, but can’t be printed!

I’m always available for a discussion on Tuesdays at the Courthouse at 9AM if you want to discuss the issues.

  13. Mark Russo Says:

I’ve only been reading the IV Daily View for a short time, but long enough to see the majority of topics are dominated by Mr Kelly and his obvious agenda. It is sad too, because this constant injection of personal bias skews the topic and reads more like a page out of a tabloid.

Yes Mr Kelly, inquiring minds do want to know, but stick to the facts and stop trolling “Opinions”. It will do much for your credibility in the long run.

As it stands now, you just come across as a bitter person with a chip on your shoulder, not the wise sage you believe yourself to be.

  14. Bobster Says:

    Surprise,

    Ruger Kelly advocating love.

Sandi is a nice lady, and a decent person. She’s ill prepared at best, or incompetent at worst, sadly, that takes away from her cause and agenda.
Only if she would shake Dale off, she might grow up to be the commissioner!

Posted on July 18th, 2011 at 11:41 pm

  15. Pan-Man Says:

“I can’t stand that woman” does not equal “pure hatred”. Those are the words (“pure hatred”) of Mr. Kelley who has an agenda or axe to grind. Why Mr. Kelley thinks anybody cares what he thinks is surprises me. People like him misconstrue others words for his own philosophical benefit. Mr. Kelleys multiple comments on all subjects show his true colors. Excrement stirrer just like Dale. Climb back under the rock from which you came. By the way, I voted for Sandi and regret it fully, but do not hate her.
